Leading Change
Epiphancy approaches change efforts by first determining the impetus of the change. What is causing or driving the change? Is it external to the organization, such as rising fuel costs, or internal, such as the hiring of a new CEO? Epiphancy uses this information to develop solutions that help individuals, groups, or entire organizations lead change efforts. Epiphancy is ready to help you lead your change effort, not be managed by it.

People are different, which means we all respond to change differently. What one person may enjoy, another may despise. Understanding differences in others begins by understanding yourself. How do you learn? How do you work? How do you socialize? How do you collect and process information? How do you treat others? How do you like to be treated? Learning these and many other behavioral traits can increase self-awareness, which in turn, can help you better understand and interact with others.
Epiphancy builds capacity in people by assessing individual traits in areas such as personality, learning style, competencies, personal power, leadership, and teamwork. Through these assessments, Epiphancy helps individuals create personal development plans that identify goals, objectives, resources, and timelines associated with their strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Epiphancy works on a one-on-one basis or conducts workshops to meet group or organizational needs. Visit workshops for more information.

Have you ever been a member of a highly successful team? What made it different from a low performing team? Why was the team so successful? What held it together? What was your role? Imagine how your organization would operate if you could establish and sustain high performing teams such as the one you were on previously!
Epiphancy helps identify unit dynamics and works from there to build its capacity. Initial observations might include determining:
- the unit’s make-up--is it a group or a team?
- how members differ from one another (e.g. personality, gender, age, race, ethnicity, culture)
- the purpose of the unit (e.g. board, committee, project team)
- processes and skills in place (e.g. workflow, policies, procedures, competencies)
- leadership style of the team or group
Epiphancy considers these and many more factors when working with clients to build high performance teams. The overall objective is to create a team whose goals, objectives, and strategies align with the organization’s shared vision and produce high-quality results. If you would like to transform a dysfunctional team into a high-performance team, contact Epiphancy.

Organizations and their environment change constantly. Think back a year in your current organization. How many employees have come and gone? How much has your business increased or decreased in value? How have your customers’ requirements changed? How much have your suppliers' costs increased? What are your competitors doing differently?
Now, think about the coming years. How much of what changed will stay the same or change again? How are the global and local economies, your industry, and your business expected to change? How influential will you be in any of the changes?
Epiphancy works in a variety of capacities with organizations. Using collaborative techniques, Epiphancy guides organizations through designing, communicating, implementing, and evaluating change initiatives. As the change journey progresses, the organization’s capacity to lead and manage change increases while Epiphancy’s role decreases until it is no longer needed.
Change often requires leading and managing new initiatives in addition to doing business as normal. Most of all, however, change requires action—ideas, strategies, and plans alone do not produce change. Failing to act, act consistently, and act thoroughly, is where most organizations fall short in their change efforts. If you want actionable results instead of plans that sit on a shelf, contact Epiphancy today.

A municipality decided it needed an economic development strategic plan. It formed a committee, hired a consultant, and designed and presented a plan to the public for approval. The public rejected the plan. The municipality formed a new committee, hired a new consultant, and designed and presented a new plan to the public. The public again rejected the plan. After a few more iterations with thousands more tax dollars spent, someone suggested getting the public involved at the beginning of the process. The municipality formed a new committee and hired a consultant with community engagement experience. The committee recruited participants throughout the area, held a collaborative session to design a new plan, presented it to the public, and it passed. The municipality now has a vibrant economic development strategic plan with the community involved in its implementation!
Epiphancy brings people together to solve complex issues affecting their communities. Working with community members, steering groups, and planning teams, Epiphancy helps design the right kind of event that guides the community to its vision. Additionally, Epiphancy assists with recruitment--an extremely important process in the success of community engagements. Understanding who is affected by change and having them participate in the process, maximizes the perspectives of an issue and creates efficiencies in developing and implementing correct solutions. Once members have been recruited, Epiphancy facilitates one or more large-scale events, helping the community reach common ground and develop actionable results.
